Dreamhost, being the fantabulous host that they are, sent out 5 invite codes for me to pass along… if you sign up with one of these codes, you will get:
- Four (4) times the normal disk and bandwidth
- $150 off if you choose their five-year plan
- $200 off if you choose their ten-year plan
I’ve been using Dreamhost for about 3 years now and I’ve had pretty good luck with them. Their control panel is nice, and I love that they offer SSH. You can also have unlimited domains/sub-domains, databases, emails, etc etc. They even support Ruby on Rails… although if you’re serious about your Railsin’, you should probably choose a host with some kind of dedicated resources, since Rails is a big hog.
If anyone is interested, email me, or leave a comment :) They expire in 2 weeks!

We’re doing some cleaning around here… these are for sale if anyone is interested… all are in fine condition as far as I know… we just have no use for them since my Macbook Pro only supports Express/34 (click: about Express Cards).

Alright, so I did give in to the whole “it looks so cute, and it’s so cool” thing Apple has going on… but how in the hell could they get away with charging so much for RAM? I got 2 GB for about $170 and it works just dandy… where do they get off charging $600?! For machines that take up to 4 GB you can shell out $2600 for some “so cute and so cool” memory…

So, last weekend I broke down and bought the Macbook Pro. It’s the 15″ Dual 2.0 ghz w/ 2 GB ram. I would have never bought it before the Intel Core Duo. Now that I can have Windows on it, it’s the perfect machine. I could never fully go over to Mac, but now that I’m on here, I probably won’t be switching much… only for testing sites probably. I am running Parallels w/ Windows XP MCE - it’s great. It’s pretty speedy - I haven’t had any problems with lag. I haven’t tried Bootcamp, but having to boot up into one of the OS’ and not being able to go back and forth easily doesn’t sound too great.
Is anyone looking to buy an iPod Nano? I’m selling a black 2 GB Nano for $180, if anyone is interested. We got it with the Macbook Pro and haven’t used it, so it’s brand new. Click here to see the Ebay auction.
In other news, I’ve registered for baking school starting this fall. I’m just going to a small school for now, until I find out if it’s really what I want to do. I don’t want to shell out the big bucks and realize that I don’t like it.
This weekend we’re going to paint the living/dining room and replace the moulding. I’m nervous because we’re still not sure what color to paint… we’ll see I guess!
